Next Saturday, I am going to a show called "Simpsons in the flesh". Matt along with all the simpsons voices cast will be there. The show is presented during the "Just for laugh" festival in Montreal. I'm wondering if it is a world tour or if they are visiting only some few selected cities. "The show's creator, Matt Groening, says he's got a soft spot for Canada because his father, "the original Homer," was born here. That's one of the reasons he agreed to bring the cast to Montreal."
I didn't know that. I thought all the references to Canada were because some of the shows writers were from here.
This isn't the first time the comedy festival has done something with cartoons. Maybe ten years ago, they showed some Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons at the Rialto, and June Ward (who voiced Rocky) was there for some question and answers. I don't remember any of the other voices being there, though Howey Mandel was the MC, and I remember him helping June Ward up and down the stairs to the stage.
I can't think of any other examples, but I have a vague feeling they've done the same thing with other cartoons over the years. So once the voices were out performing, it makes sense that the festival would try to get the show here to Montreal.
