Is it me, or does this smell like an impending disaster? At the very least, it makes me feel old.

The network's animators have re-imagined Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Wile E. Coyote as sleek new figures for a modern age.

"We all flipped for it," David Janollari, president of the Kids' WB, said this week. "We just said, `Wow, what a great way to take the classic Looney Tunes franchise that has been huge with audiences for decades and bring it into the new millennium.'"

Cartoon characters seldom have their own kids. It's always nephews & nieces. (Goofy was one of the exceptions.)

Hey, wait until a few years after the original "Simpsons" ends its run. It will be brought back, with Lisa and Bart as teenagers who are in a rock band and have a group of wacky friends.

I heard about this, or rather saw it, on FOX NEWS or CNN. I think it is a HORRIBLE idea. It is turning a LEGEND into crap. Another cartoon of today's mindless Youth. Something between crappy anime on Cartoon Network and just mindless cookie cutter crap toons.

These cartoons survived black and white days, WWII, the film reels, journey to TV, cable tv, and still are classics. Bugs Bunny is a lengend, it shouldn't be altered. Poor Chuck Jones, Bob Clampet, and I shudder to think of poor Mel Blanc.

Guess they ran out of good idea, have to start "re-tooling" others.

Everybody, get out your TVs and start flipping around!

I guess this all started with SPACE JAM and that first "new" Bugs Bunny years ago, which sucked.
