I saw the film when I was a kid, it had to be no later than when I was seven. And in trying to figure out what film it was, I've read the description and somehow it doesn't fit what I remember.

To complicate matters, there was a similar episode in "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea", and I'm no longer even certain if that's what I'm remembering rather than the movie. I gather the episode reused bits of the movie.

I guess I should get the movie, since you do point it out on my rather vague description. Even if it's not what I remember, it's the sort of tilm I'd want to see.

It isn't really all that good of a movie. When I saw it, though, it was evident that Phil Hartman based his Troy McClure character on that Doug fellow.

It does have some low budget dinosaurs. And either this movie or its sequel, The Land that People Forgot, made it clear that it was set in some undiscovered Antarctica locale.
