Treehouse of Horror V: The Shinning

Does everyone agree with me that "The Shinning" is one of the best Treehouse of Horror segments? It got surprising negative reviews at snpp.

Classic Parts: "This... is my voice... on teeevveee!" (This alone- the outer limits parody- makes this ep a classic) Brilliant Shining Sendup ("Blood goes off on 2nd floor," "5 John Denver christmas specials," "typing window to madness," numerous "heres johnny!" goofs, and "give me the bat, givemethebat, batbatbabtbatb") Great Time skit

Flaws: Too gruesome (JUST the cafeteria one and the inside-out thing)

A+ Classic THOH- wish it were this funny now

I love "The Shinning".

"Tell you what. If we come back in the spring and everyone's slaughtered, I owe you a Coke."

Yes, absolutely! It's one of my favorites.

Homer: "No TV and no beer make Homer something something." Marge: "Go crazy?" Homer: "Don't mind if I do!!"

And of course, the window into Homer's madness: "Feelin' fine." ^_^

"Time and Punishment" was also really good.

'Course, I'm also fond of "I Know What You Diddily-Did," and that didn't get good reviews either. The other two segments were okay, but the entire episode is worth watching just for the part where Homer lugs Ned's corpse around, trying to set up his death for Maude:

"I've been having fun with my pal Homer...diddily!"

And later: "Anyway in conclusion, a man cannot be forced to testify against his wife."

NO HOMER^3 IS WAY BETTER WELL the shinning is my second fav

"Citizen Kang" has to be the best Treehouse of Horror segment yet, IMHO.
