please forgive my ignorance, but what the hell is Dalnet? It appears at the start of a lot of Simpsons episodes ive donwloaded.

I believe it is a IRC chat server.

In other words, it has nothing to do with the Simpsons. It's just something someone put in there when they were copying or converting from one format to another.

Bottom line, I wouldn't worry about it...
