Apologies if this has been asked before or appears in the FAQ somewhere. . .
"Star India," having run out of "new" (i.e. three-year-old) episodes to show, has gone back to the beginning of their syndication package -- the 8F series (season 3). It's interesting when suddenly sent back through the time warp to see how much closer the animation and characterizations were to the Ullman shorts, and how much more Bart got to do. But my question is more specific. In "Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington," Homer is shown at his station showing off his new-found knowledge, courtesy of _Reading Digest_ magazine, to Lenny and Carl. The work station looks different from its appearance in later episodes, for example, at the ends, there are analog dials with needles that jump back and forth. Was there a specific point in time at which they "modernized" the station to its current form, or was there a gradual morphing? I know that he orders a new one at least once, but IIRC, it had already attained its current configuration by that time.
