Wrong twice. As the first poster said, Johnny Cash WAS in the show, as the "space coyote" (sorry Aaron). And, NO, "A Boy Named Sue" was NEVER used. ("Folsom Prison Blues" was parodied by Krusty in "Brother from another Series".)

Actually, if you listen to commentaries, there seems to be some sort of curse. There have been numerous jokes that have had to be rewritten at the last minute b/c the object of them died...one involved the Soviet Union, but it disbanded before the episode aired, so the joke had to be redone...

As I've mentioned before, the only "curse" is that it's a long running show which has had many guest stars, some who were well-established actors. Bob Hope was 89 when he guested in 1992 -- it's more of a surprise that he only died this year.
