I'm wondering in how many European languages does Bart mean beard. Doesn't it in German and Dutch (and I think Afrikaans?)

If Afrikaans isn't European in origin, it certainly does a great impression. It doesn't sound like too many of the languages that originated in Africa. In fact, it sounds like Dutch. Wonder why?
