Not sure if you're new to usenet, but to help readability, most people prefer to separate the text of the person they're responding to from their replies. They do this by prepending each line of the original message with the ">" character.
Most newsreaders should do this automatically for you. Buf if yours doesn't, you should do this manually to help others on usenet read your message, as opposed to getting frustrated and confused, and finally give up and move on to the next post without reading what you have to say.
