Overall, an improvement on most episodes of the past few seasons.

Nova Scotia (my home province) got mentioned on The Simpsons!!!

exactly how does Bart's clue about the Canadian Governor General spell out the name Adrienne Clarkson? (who currently holds that office?)

--wait a minute? what was his clue again (I forget it). Maybe it spells out the name of ALL the people who held the office!

Curious error in closed captioning. When "Hail to the Chief" is being played during the governor's office scene, the captions called it "Pomp and Circumstance." That's the name of a British theme composed by Elgar, that is often associated with the Queen.

Yes, I can see that. And I'd hope Americans would know their original colonies, too. But I wouldn't expect the rest of the world to know them.

The relevance to Simpsons is that I don't think it's sad at all that American kids don't know the first Canadian provinces. That's precisely why the joke was funny. :)

In many places here in the US, schools aren't allowed to teach evolution. Or if they are allowed, they have to treat "creation science," an oxymoron if I ever heard one, as an equal theory.

Now a comment on the episode. It was funny how Nelson always kept popping up to say, "Ha ha!" even though he isn't in the class. I still can't believe the buddy system failed though. ________________________________________________________________

No. It airs at 8pm everywhere. When it's 8pm on the east coast, they see the episode. However, it's only 5pm on the west coast. The west coast people have to wait 3 hours to see it. During those 3 hours, people on the east coast made posts to ATS concerning the episode...and that led to your confusion.
