Mirkin quote in philosophy book

I�ve started reading the "Simpsons & Philosophy" book (seems a little dry to me, I�ve seen far better scientific books about the show) and I�ve found an interesting quote by David Mirkin in the book.

"We�re really writing a show that has some of the most esoteric references on television. I mean really, really, really, strange, odd, short little moments that very few people get and understand. We�re writing it for adults and intelligent adults at that."

I wonder whether this is still valid for seasons past S9.

P.S. I�ll post some short comments about the two new S14 episodes tomorrow. I�ve seen the episodes but I have to re-watch them for a comment. Seems to be pretty good stuff for Season 14.

Considering the number of blatant potty, sex and drug references in each new episode now-a-days, I think the answer to that question is rather obvious.
