I just visited www.gotfuturama.com with the upbringing that Futurama is going to be cancelled after this season.
Can you believe that? If that is true, it's giving me the opinion that Fox never wanted the show to succeed in the first place which is why they got demoted to 7/6:00 E&C so that they were pre-emptied all the time. They thought the show would bomb after the first season, but it didn't so therefore they did whatever possible to accomodate other plans. This is a show I think they wanted to cancel a long time ago.
I don't beleive it, what a bunch of morons. Fox is cancelling all or some of its most popualar shows like Futurama, Millennium (despite the impressive write-in campaign to renew the show for a fourth season.), Fox Kids Saturday and the list goes on and on. With this rate, fox will go down hill very fast.

with "the x-files" going the way of duchovny after this season, fox's sunday night line-up will undergo a scrambling -- hopefully to the favor of shows like "futurama."
I wish, but I have a feeling Fox would move "24" into the slot. I wouldn't be surprised if Fox tries to stretch the remaining Futurama episodes into another season, simply not showing any new episodes during football season next fall (which would explain, among other things, why it's pre-empted for a Simpsons repeat on the 24th).

I have to disagree. Malcolm in the Middle is one of the best comedies on FOX. What they need to get rid of is King of the Hill with its tired storylines. At least Malcolm is original. I read today that Undeclared is being canceled. Good riddance. The best shows on tv right now are on FOX. Simpsons, Futurama, Malcolm, and Bernie Mac.
Lo the glories of digital cable. I watches my FOX, then record the HBO West feed (factory-installed time-shifting). Everything comes on 3 hours later. And hey, SexandtheCity IS comedy... porn AND comedy, but still comedy!

Hmmm. Where did you go to college where everyone was beautiful and everyone who wasn't was a hilarious comedic genius? Anyway, no matter. I read it in Tuesday's (Feb. 12) edition of the Indianapolis Star. The local tv critic had an interview with a writer and he said that FOX shut down production with like 5 episodes to go and was unsure whether FOX would renew it in the fall. :) Good point. I mainly meant the drinking. Remember how on tv shows whenever someone got drunk, suddenly all of their friends would stage an intervention and say things like "we think you have a problem." As though occasional binge drinking was a sign of alcoholism. BAH I say. Thank you for the article.

How is MITM a knock off of the Wonder Years? Theoretically, you could say any sitcom oriented around a family is a rip off of something else. The differences are enormous. WY was a sitcom based around family life in the late 60's and early 70's. It was about normal kids/teenagers. MITM is nothing like that. It's about a kid who's trying to be popular but is a geek inside. He's smarter than average, yet hates it because it distances him from other kids his age.
Kevin Arnold was not a geek, he was "one of the guys", and most people can identify with that. Most people can't identify with Malcolm, but that's ok, because there is someone in that family that everyone can identify with, whether it's the troublemaker, the clueless dad, the overbearing but loving mom, the college-aged kid trying to find his way or little Dewey, who's smarter than he appears to be.
Finally, MITM is not supposed to be a simulation like WY was. WY was supposed to be taken seriously, but MITM is just a funny comedy.
