Does "Tall man in a Beetle" appear in any other Simpson Episodes and does he have a name?

There was a tall guy sitting behind Homer on the way to New York in The City Of New York vs. Homer Simpson. His scene was a syndication cut, though, so I can't remember if it's the same tall guy.

This may not be him for the face is not shown, but it could be. On a Halloween episode "Just Don't Look" Wiggum shoots a something which turns out to be the highschool basketball captain and Lou points out who it really was and Wiggums response "Well, he was getting to be a monster"...

Im pretty sure he is on other episodes. Probally as a background character. Sorta like that lady marge went out on the town with. Sarah Gilbert played her daughter..

Wadlow must be his first name. I'm pretty sure that Wadlow is the middle or last name of the man named in the Guiness Book of World Records as the "tallest man in history".

While I don't have a character name, He is actually loosely based on Mr. Ian Maxtone-Graham, one of the writers on The Simpsons. Ian has also appeared on Clerks: The Animated Series, in the Outbreak episode. When Leonardo thinks he is dying from the Motava virus, he asks Mr. Plug to pick out a suitable picture for his obituary. Plug suggests a picture of Leonardo taken at Studio 54 with what appears to be Elton John and Ian Maxtone Graham. Director Kevin Smith actually talks about this reference in great detail on the DVD's commentary track.

...are there actually 22? Everytime I've seen it I've only counted 13/14 different cuts... Anyone know?

The title is a reference to some film isn't it?

When I realised there were less than 22 stories I just assumed that they only chose that title to spoof the title of whatever film it was, not to be accurate.

That doesn't make a lot of sense. I mean, I see the correlation between the full title of the two; however, it doesn't appear to have anything at all to do with the reason why it's 22 instead of 18 or 32 for that matter...

There's close to 22 shorts in there. I'd imagine they did it for the combination of the facts that 22 rhymes with 32, and that there are 22 minutes in an episode.
