Favorite Season

Just curious about what season is generally considered the best. My favorite is 6.

No way, it's totally fall. That's when all the foilage turns beautiful colours. And the pumpkins, and whatnot.

Many people like summer the best, for the heat and the vacations, or spring for the rebirth and sprouting... the re-awakening of the earth. Fall has the best writing, though.

I think that the words "generally considered" slightly doomed this message. It implies that there is a general consensus. There isn't. (Almost) all of the seasons had various merits. It is like arguing whether the winter or summer is better... the farmer and the skier are bound to disagree.

I think that I like the art and animation from seasons 2 and 3 the best. It wasn't as polished and rounded, had a bit more character and creativity.

I liked the characters the most around season two and three... though Marge doesn't really come into her own until much later. Lisa has stayed strong pretty much throughout, Bart having his best (character) moments in five and six. I thought that the stories were strongest (as stories) from seasons two until six. I thought that the humour was strongest from seasons five until about seven. And so on.

None of the seasons were pure gold.

The more recent seasons might not be the greatest ever... but I still watch every week and enjoy them. I don't get why so many people are so proud of hating everything after season so-and-so, and not watching. (Or watching and hating.) It is like a political boycott or something... or a point of honour. There is still entertainment to be had... why no have it?

Easily the best season is season 9 because of "This Little Wiggy"

Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but six is easily my LEAST favorite season. Viewed individually, the episodes hold up well. Many are better than recent episodes. But that season brought me to the wrenching conclusion that the show's golden age was over, and would never be the same again.

My comment about the show ending in Season 11 still stands. That's when it all fell apart IMO. But since I had actually given up watching the show a year or so before, I guess I had come to the conclusion that the show was past its glory years a little earlier.

Season 9 was easily the best because of one reason This Little Wiggy (#5F13 / SI-913). Soem of the newer episode are the best yet like Blame it On Lisa <DABF10 / SI-1310> (When they go to Brazil) andWeekend at Burnsie's <DABF11 / SI-1311> (Medicinal Marijuana) those are instant classics

The season I enjoyed the most was the second season.

The first season was GREAT, but I enjoyed it mostly because of the novelty of watching cartoon characters experience adult situations. The second season was even better. It was more refined and a little more cheeky. The 3rd and 4th seasons were damned good, too, but I was used to the show by then and my expectations were much higher. The fifth season was pretty good, but I could see the rot start to set in. It was during the 6th season that I started openly expressing concern about the show to my friends. The 6th season seems to age fairly well, though. The episodes are definite classics compared to, say, the 12th or 13th seasons.

I've enjoyed all the seasons except for seasons 9-13, but seasons 2 or 3 were my favorites.
