That might have been the lamest episode ever: "Millhouse of Sand and Fog"

They really have a whole team of writers working on something like that?...WTF?

I'm getting the strong suspicion that The Simpsons' creative people no longer like -- or even respect -- the characters on the show anymore. That's NEVER a good sign.

"The Mansion Family" from season 11 was pretty lame, too.

I'm hoping for the sake of comedy's future, you guys are being sarcastic. That was one of the funniest episodes in years. Milhouse was hilarious.

I didn't catch it so I can't comment on this episode in particular, but I'm fairly convinced that even if the "classic" episodes from the first few seasons were being shown new today we'd still be hearing all the same "worst show ever" type comments.

...and, conversely; if these newer shows debuted in the beginning of the series, people would consider them "classic".

I think a lot of it is associating episodes with a certain period in one's life (i.e. childhood).

I always give the newer episodes a chance. I actually think some of the newer ones are very good. The acting is always consistent and the artwork is very impressive. The writing and production style seem hit or miss...

But, seriously, this episode was awkward in it's presentation.

I'm going to fully disagree with that. I've watch most episodes so many times over the years its almost impossible to associate an episode with my childhood or any other aspect of my life. The older episodes are just better written, produced, directed. If anything the older episodes set the standard for the simpsons and the newer episodes have failed in reaching it.
