Really, really good--one of the best. I thought all 3 were hilarious.
The first was the best--great gags, and I loved the last scene. (Bart's dead?) The gags were great, and the Clever Hans ref. cracked me up (for those of you that don't know, Clever Hans was a horse that supposedly did math, giving answers by clapping his hoof--which is what Homer was referring to Lisa doing.) The simple wackiness of this episode worked wonderfully. Also, I wonder if this is a follow-up on Night of the Dolphins--someone else commented that NoTD was trying to kill as many supporting characters as possible, and then the next short kills Carl, Lenny, Moe, and Bart. Just a thought. A+
House of Whacks was also very good, and had another great ending--but was slow for the first few minutes (it can't all be good.) Another wonderful ending (the Ultrahouse attempting to kill itself,) and are we trying to kill Homer now also? The other thing I started to notice at this point was this remarkable shift towards simple grossness in this episode--Homer's brains, the leprechaun sex, Bart's neck, Marge's hair, etc. And it only got more pronounced in Wiz Kids--but I like that sort of thing. This also had a pretty decent plot for a THOH episode. A-
Finally, Wiz Kids was great again--the prince spells were awesome, and Bart's beast continues that pattern of grosssness, as does the "Smithers eating Burns" scene. Was Bart's little prick killing Montymort a Sleeping Beauty ref? Another great appearance by Ralph, and the "stop zapping yourself" gag was nice. A.
Wonderful, wonderful THOH. And a great night of television overall (with "24" on afterwards.)
