Shorter episode length for 3/10 ep

Just wondering if anybody else noticed this. My capture without commercials came in at 21:31, a full minute shorter than most eps. I'm wondering why they didn't use the long intro, since they obviously had the time...

I noticed that Fox (Chicago) didn't have any trouble filling that extra minute with commercials... 73, Keith

They were cutting time here and there to make room for the Star Wars trailer.

they cut parts of the episode for Star Wars? that's not good.

Well, episodes range from 20-22 minutes. Maybe this one was a little shorter because there is another episode this season that might be 23 minutes or so. I bet if we add up all of this season's episode times and divide it by 24 episodes, we end up with a nice even number.

Actually, this isn't true. I've captured all the episodes this season, and episodes 1 through 12 ranged from 22:23 to 22:32, with 11 of the episodes between 22:29 and 22:32 (a pretty narrow range). So, given that "The Old Man And The Key" came in at 21:37 (closer to syndication length than primetime length), I'd say Fox definitely was trying to make room for the Star Wars trailer.

But hey, as long as they just cut out part of the intro I can live with that. :)
