Goofs: = Bart's laser pen has a beam when showing Bart pointing it, but no beam when it's shown on Rev. Lovejoy's face. (Not to mention the impossibility of drawing in such a manner with one of those.)

= Bart's racquetball/string thing seems to extend much further than you'd expect when it almost hits Carl, compared to when Marge tells him off. (Elastic?)

= When Dr. Brentano opens the doors, the drum kit has no snare drum, hi-hats or brushes. They appear when Marge inspects the kit.

= When Bart starts drumming, the cymbal makes a distinct hi-hat sound.

= Plenty of other instances of the music and animation not matching.

= Another tom appears when Homer says "I've never seen him happier".

= Many more instances of drums/cymbals disappearing and re-appearing from shot to shot.

= Weird animation on Lisa's sax keys when she jams with Bart.

• There's a weird blue border around the background scene as the family get near the magazine stand. The black lines of the store overlap onto this blue border. It's only onscreen for a couple of seconds, but is inconsistent with reality (even in the show) and looks completely rushed.

= The magazine stand is part of a row of stores in one shot and on the corner a few moments later.

= Lisa glides to the second dog she looks at.

= The model of the Lisa Simpson Home for Abandoned Animals is flat one minute, and sloped the next.

Miscellaneous Notes: - Richard Sakai (one of the performers Krusty mentions at the benefit concert) is one of the show's producers.

Review: Really, really bad. The jokes were awful, the story was all over the place. The animation seemed rushed and lacked consistency. Poor! (D)

Best jokes: - The couch gag. - The White Stripes chasing Bart. - "Downbeat Simpson" on the cover of Dream Denied Magazine. - The first part of Lisa walking with the animals. - "I was a great drummer, and now I'm nothing! Just like Phil Collins!"

"Josie and the Pussycats" was about social rebellion.

Uh, this movie has been made THREE times, and was already spoofed on OFF years ago. In a THOH episode. So I am not sure they were spoofing the 2005 movie. "MOSI TATUPU! MOSI TATUPU!"

And he is also a Springfield area anesthesiologist who likes Karaoke. See the "Spy Camera" episode.

Have you actually seen the 2005 version? I'm guessing not. I haven't seen the 70s version of the movie, but I'm willing to bet it's not what was parodied, since the (animated) cinematography in the couch gag is very close to that of the Empire State Building scene in the 2005 movie.

Combined with the fact that the 2005 version is far more topical, and even more so when the episode would have gone into production. I doubt the writers sat around a table and said "let's bring back King Homer from Treehouse of Horror III!"
