Isn't it the one TV show with the most funny one-liners ever? Of course, this might be because it's been on for 13 years... But still, you could write a book as thick as the Bible with significant funny Simpsons quotes, and I betcha 75% of those quotes would be from Homer.
Simpsons the most "quotable" series ever?

The only current series that rivals the Simpsons for quotable material is Whose Line Is It Anyway?. Both shows have that wacky, unpredictable humor that keeps you wondering what is coming next.

Yeah, they're both good shows, but they never figure out whose line it is. Every week I think they might deduce it, but never do they. :-P

I have yet to hear anyone quote "Whose Line..." And, here's a comedy secret..... So-call improv is far from being unscripted. It's as scripted as the so-called psychics who do "cold" readings.

Say it ain't so!
Live improv tends to be more or less unscripted, particularly if they take audience suggestions and they go straight into a sketch rather thant wandering backstage.

"I need an adjective and a profession.......I heard shaky and .... doctor"
And, you don't think he heard that because of prearranged skits?
Having done improv and having been in the audience for improvisational groups that I don't know, I think that when I've yelled out suggestions they're probably not things that they could have planned for. Like "aluminum siding!" When I do improv, I do it without cheating. It's unfortunate if other people aren't doing that, but that's really not how most groups I've seen have operated.

Then I wish you all success. I saw you type of improv years ago (many, many years ago), and enjoyed it because it was fresh.

You can still catch it every night at Second City venues across the nation.
<The only current series that rivals the Simpsons for quotable material is Whose Line Is It Anyway?>
I loved the sheep sketch. "Oh, I feel so diiiirrrrtyyy..." "She lied, she lied! Virgin wool my ass." "You asked for a sweater, and you got a screamer!"
Aw, people can come up with statistics to prove anything. Forty percent of all people know that.

I forgot about this one. But, at the gallery in which I work, I thought it on a daily basis.

BTW! Does anyone have a downloadable wav. of this quote? I'd be in your debt! And don't say wavking!!!!
-Bob
donut wrote in message news:af71on$o8$[email]...
Why shouldn't anyone say wavking? If he's got it, then why should you look elsewhere? Or is his server still down...?
Well now... Is it up? Does he have it? Is it downloadable? If you cannot answer these questions, three, you were not helpful.
I would have preferred a response like, "Hey dumbass! It's right at..." Followed by an address.

For someone who claims to be more intelligent and funnier than EVERYONE who posts here (despite the fact that you don't know anyone on a personal level), you sure don't have many smart or humorous things to say...
Jason Saslow wrote in message news:[email]...
You're showing your deficiencies again.
Firstly, I said I'm probably funnier than most of the people here.
Secondly, I said it tongue in cheek.
Thirdly, you have also responded on a personal level on several occasions.... so what's your point?
Dick!
-Bob
Right, everyone else has "deficiencies" except you...
Yeah, you're a laugh a minute...
Yes, tongue firmly in cheek while you rip apart someone's writing (completely unconstructively) for no reason other than to appear as though you know what you're talking about. You probably didn't even read the script...
When asked for specific examples you continue bash the writer and tell them they have problems and you're just so smart...
You think you have the answer to everything and subsequently confront just about everyone in the same manner when they disagree with or challenge you about anything. When you get backed into a corner you either completely change the topic to something that was never brought up nor remotely related or you just spew profanity...
(a two-for-one) case in point... I digress...
Grow up, Bob.
Jason Saslow wrote in message news:[email]...
Never said that! Have you actually read what I wrote?
You've timed it?
If you read that thread, you will see that I do have some qualifications. And, Dana was much more comfortable with my "attack" than you are. He could have ranted (as you have) but remained fairly lucid.
I'm curious. What is your problem with me?
Wrong! Stop projecting.
You teenagers have such a problem with authority and experience.
Have you read your own postings?
You have yet to back me into a corner.
But, I must apologize to the rest of you for my potty-mouth. A side effect of living in New York City.
Maybe you digress because YOU can't stay on topic.
HA! At my job, every time I've pointed out fallacies, etc. in someone's plans, ideas etc., I'm told that I'm childish and jealous. Nevermind that I am invariably right. The odd thing is that instead of admitting that they were wrong, and I have far more experience, they decide to slink away.
Is there any chance you'll do the same, Algenon?
-Bob
Oh! I almost forgot...
Dick!
Ok. Hey dumbass! It's right at an address.
Austin
Thanks!

My buddies and I are particularly bad about it -- left alone to our own devices, we will start spouting quotes from The Simpsons. Being on the air for so long, it's pretty much covered everything...just about everything in life has been covered in a Simpsons episode.
Peace, Vince Yim

Yeah I know. I'll be having a conversation with my family or friends and for just about any situation I'm saying.. "Hey that reminds of this Simpsons' episode." It tends to annoy my mom.
"That's boring. You're boring. Stop boring everybody!"
My husband and I have often discussed what our conversations would be like without The Simpsons. We don't know that we'd be able to speak or think of witty things to say. We'd just sit around staring at our feet.
It'd be like an expert knot tier quitting a knot-tying contest right in the middle of tying a knot.
