8:00 The Regina Monologues (EABF22) "The Simpsons are going to the UK!", with special guest voices UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, and Sir Ian McKellen waiting on the other side

Simpsons The Regina Monologues 30 mins.

It serves the British right for giving us Coupling! The Simpsons are vacationing in London, and how jolly nice of Prime Minister Tony Blair to warmly welcome them. Of course that's before Homer gives a new and more urgent meaning to the phrase "God save the queen" by crashing the family's rented van into her majesty's coach, which promptly lands him a cell in the Tower of London. Besides the PM, the episode features cameos by Sir Ian McKellan, J.K. Rowling, original Joe Millionaire Evan Marriott and Frasier's Jane Leeves, who plays the girl Grandpa Simpson romanced one night during WWII.

Thoughts on the Simpsons: Sweet Trainspotting reference

Um did they do a knockoff of a National Lampoon European Vacation shtick! The roundabout thing was kinda similar to Chase getting stuck in one. At least they did not knock over Stonehenge.

Sun magazine was pretty funny for the topless Homer.

Grandpa has three kids Homer has a half brother and a half sister.

Was Tony Blair the most important person ever to appear on the Simpsons? Can anyone think of someone other than

Review: That was a really enjoyable episode. There were more than enough gratuitous celebrity cameos to make the episode bad, but at least the writing and story were good enough to make the episode fun. There were also enough sight gags to make this episode fun to watch again and again. So lets see a story that was funny that had lots of sight gags means a great episode. A-

Look kids! Big Ben! Parliament!

Since no one else has mentioned it yet... did anyone else think the whole Grandpa subplot was a ripoff of King of the Hill?

Hmm, good question. Certainly the three ex-Beatles were important in their own way.

Or Stephen Hawking, Stephen Jay Gould, Dudley Hershbach...

And they beat out those British Rolling Stones, too.

Are we talking voicing, or just appearance? I don't keep track of such things, but one might argue that The Queen is more important than the Prime Minister of the UK.

Don't forget that a number of presidents have been on the show (though I doubt they voiced).

Thomas Edison was on once. One might argue that he's pretty important.

When I wrote that question I was thinking that Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson were the two most famous people ever to appear on the show. Maybe Stephen Jay Gould is the person who made the most significant contribution to science. But just in terms of world importance, Blair could only be topped by lets see... the Dali Lama (hey he should have appeared on the episode that R. Gere was in), Nelson Mandela, and a handful of Russian and American leaders. Now, this is a naughty Ameri-centric view, but I dont think most people on the left side of the pond would recognize Chirac or Koizumi, much less realize their world importance. Ohhhh, I got a name of a leader that would be really interesting on the show. Kim Jong Il. He would be the most notorious person to be on the show without also being currently at large. Maybe the Simpsons could go to North Korea next season!

Why don't the Simpsons go and find a country that produces lots of yoghurt, they can indulge in the new and fun and uninquizited (?) sport of yoghurt spooking. SPOOK! SPOOK! SPOOK DA YOGHURT! SPOOK! SPOOK! SPOOK DA YOGHURT! Let's spook the yoghurt, everyone! yeaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh

If they got Koizumi, he and Marge could have a Worst Hair Contest.

Conservatism is the ideology of reality.

Homer "Clobbersaurus" Simpson already kicked some Prime Minister's ass once. Maybe Koizumi could take on Homer in a rematch?
