Mediocre episode

Mostly unfunny.

Agreed. The only thing that made me laugh was "Ha ha! Bart's family is poor!"

Otherwise.. painful.

I liked the chalkboard gag:

Making Milhouse cry is not a science project

But the rest of the episode was not good at all.

The first act, with the dog, was just bizarre. I really don't know how to grade that.

Another observation... during the early-middle seasons, there were serious efforts to turn Krusty's show into a Carson parody. Then, the pendulum swung back towards straight-out kiddie show. Well, it's back again. I LOVED that opening!
