Futurama: Why is it Fox's Red Headed Step-child?

On nohomers.net they said that Futurama won't premiere until Dec. 9! Futurama's such a great show, why does it always get the boot?

Nope. It was in the paper this morning, too. Simpsons and Malcolm premiere sometime in Novermber (the 18th maybe-I don't remember).

It is starting to seem like they only show new shows during sweeps.

I think there's two big reasons for the 13th season premiere being delayed until November:

1. The now-will-not-happen writers and actors strike, which held back production somewhat.

• The World Series.

However, look on the bright side: there's very likely going to be a THOH XII airing in October (and considering Fox's fall schedule, it could air on Halloween night).

They are pushing back a lot of shows to avoid them being pre-empted by the playoffs/World Series.

Fox execs are a bunch of stupid assholes. These are the same people that keep the X-Files going. Futurama is one of the 3 shows that I watch on that network (Simpsons and Family Guy being the others). I don't see why Futurama can't have Malcolm in the Middle's timeslot. Personally I find MitM to be boring. I'd rather watch a mediocre Futurama than a ****MitM anyday. Also, at 7pm eastern they'll be pre-empted by a football game every damn week.

Fox wants to make certain that the NFL playoffs completely obliterate any chance of Futurama airing before February, just like last year (on most affiliates, anyway... Albany was an exception, I hear).

Hey Fox, how about finally putting X-Files out of its misery, and moving Futurama/KOTH to 9-10pm on Sundays?

What the heck are you talking about? Holding back the Futurama premiere until December is a smart move by Fox, considering that the show is on a time slot where people in the East Coast could miss it due to football overruns.
