Deep Space Homer

Will "Deep Space Homer" now not be screened in syndication, similar to what happened to "The City Of New York v Homer Simpson" after Sept. 11?

I doubt it; however, you can be sure that the movie "Armageddon" will not air on FX this evening as was previously scheduled...

FX isn't going to air Armageddon - why? It has astronauts in it?

BUT Nickelodeon is airing some show where they just had a sketch where a kid was testifying in court that he swears he "didn't lose the space shuttle."

WTF? That is really in bad taste - and I'm not just saying that in a mocking sarcastic tone like I usually use.

I'm actually tempted to give them a lot of shit over this....but I probably won't - it's just not worth it.

The opening scene is the Space Shuttle (I believe it's the Columbia, in fact) being bombarded by debris and blowing up into millions of pieces killing all 7 astronauts on board. Other than that, there are no similarities...

IIRC, it was the space shuttle Atlantis in the movie.

Probably, seeing as how the original ghostbusters show was a horrible, horrible blatant ripoff of the movie. The Real Ghostbusters were, um, the real Ghostbusters.

That's the one I meant when I said the "original ghostbusters". It's the earliest one I remember, so it can't be a ripoff of the movie. Unless the movie came out a decade or two earlier than I thought.

From what I hear, it was played on some feeds of that program, but on others (later feeds) it got changed for another episode.

I guess that's just Nickelodeon not thinking on their feet. As usual

It has been many times in many places, but I think the he was referring to how it was yanked from syndication for a period of time right after 9/11 happened...

Well considering i saw New Kids on the Blecch in syndication (complete with the Mad magazine bombing and Iraq being bombed by the party posse) i doubt it.
