Another SpongeBob Reference On Simpsons -- 3/2

In this week's (3/2) Simpsons episode "A Star Is Born Again", actress Sara Sloane has started to date Ned Flanders. Later, at a movie studio, she was filming some sort of jungle movie with a Hollywood hunk. When it started to become a little too hot, Ned jumped in front of the camera and said, "Whoa, whoa, this movie's turning into SpongeBob NoPants!"

This is the second time, at least, that The Simpsons referred to SpongeBob. Rugrats never had even as much as an acknowledgement from The Simpsons when Rugrats was at their peak.

Probably because SpongeBob has an older following (that's not limited to the parents of the kids that watch it). Not only did "The Ren & Stimpy Show" get mentioned in its peak, but the characters actually appeared on the show.

There probably is... KC used to do The Simpsons, before they were (to put it lightly) replaced by Film Roman. Besides, if they would have put Otto in there, it's not like the main audience is going to get it, since RP isn't exactly popular among adults (The Simpsons' target audience). I don't recall Steve posting the first SB ref here so here it is: Bart writing "SpongeBob is not a contraceptive" on the chalkboard in one ep.
