It has not been officially announced yet, but people working for the show have confirmed that there will not be a 4th season. This sucks. Just posting here because I thought you guys would like to know.

They are probably hte best four shows Fox airs (The Simpsons, Family Guy, Malcolm, The Tick)...none should be canceled yet, though I guess the end is coming soon to the Simpsons...

Although survivor doesn't pull the numbers it used to it still pulls higher ratings than most shows and putting Family Guy up against it was not very helpful. Although it was the first time it's had a regular time slot. It's just one of those shows that I really care if I miss it. It's funny and I like to watch it, but it's not one that I make sure I'm in front of the TV for.

You can't take a low rated comedy and put it in a spot that it compteting with two #1 rated shows and think its going to win its timeslot.
NOW...if they put MITM in that slot are you saying that they would get good ratings. No chance in hell.
What they should have done was move the family guy to the sunday at 8:30 slot. Then they would have promoted it...since every other comercial break is about there sunday line-up.
The truth is they wanted the show to fail. They put it in a terrible slot, with no advertising.
I bet one of the higher ups at Fox loves the show and thats the reason it keep coming back.
They NEED to get rid of the nielson familys. They should track what people watch using our cable boxes. They would also count when we tape it becuase we want to watch surivivor or friends, they watch the family guy right after.

Also, WWF Smackdown diverted the key male 18-24 demographic, further reducing the audience or potential audience. Unless Family Guy was to air on Sunday, Wednesday would be the best alternative, but that didn't happen and now that the hyped 80's Show is on Wednesdays at 8:00, that possibility is remote. Yet another good program that Fox ruined.
Oh yeah, and family guy was a piece of crap.
Oviously you have never watched the show...cause if you did you couldn't say that.

Let me state an example:
When southpark first came on the air. I made an opinion before the show started. It took me an entire season to get over the beginning hatred over something different. Now I fully enjoy the show.

I've more than half the episodes. And my opinion is that the show steals all it's best gag from the simpsons, south park, and even ren and stimpy. Whenever I watched the show I laughed a lot, but they were all cheap laughs based on some ridiculous site gag. The show just isn't intelligent. I never feel fulfilled after watching an episode of FG. However, after watching and episode of the simpsons or south park I feel that I've witnessed a work of genius. (most of the time)

The thing is, most people decide very quickly whether they like a show or not, and therefore consider it a waste of time forcing themselves to watch it on the off-chance they might start to like it.
For example, it took me only 10 minutes to decide I couldn't stand Malcolm in the Middle, and the occasional bits I've caught since have given me no reason to change that impression.
I wish Comedy Central would pick it up. It's a pretty funny show, but too crude for network television.
