Inside the Actors Studio: The Simpsons Sunday, February 9th at 8pm on Bravo. "James Lipton interviews the voice actors (Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer) from the animated classic."

Is it really a good thing that theyre airing this opposite a new simpsons ep?

Bravo will be broadcasting the episode of ITAS featuring The Simpsons' voice actors four times. According to bravotv.com:

February 9 at 8 PM eastern/pacific February 10 at midnight eastern/pacific (four hours after the above) February 15 at 1 AM eastern/pacific Feburary 16 at both 11 AM and 11 PM eastern/pacific

Well, at least they're repeating it later. But still, it's really stupid to be debuting this opposite a new Simpsons episode. One would think Bravo would want the highest ratings it could get, so why air a show geared towards Simpsons fans opposite a new Simpsons? This episode of "Actor's Studio" has been getting lots of publicity lately, and this is a chance for Bravo to score a big rating. I think they blew it with this scheduling gaffe.

I believe Sunday's at 8pm is when IAS debuts it's interviews. I don't know why they would suddenly change it for one week just because the feature's "work" conflicts with the debut...

So what's the deal with Julie Kavner being the only cast member not to be shown on camera doing her characters' voices? Also, was there an explanation as to why she disappeared halfway through the show?

I also noticed both things and thought it weird. She left for half the show, I doubt it was to go to the BR; especially since they removed her chair at one point towards the end...

Actually, apparently is was to go to the bathroom, in a way.

According to an article in the New York Post sometime around November 20th (look in rec.arts.tv for the repost),

"Lipton was so thorough in his zeal to include as many of the show's characters as possible on his show, that when Kavner tried to run to the bathroom he ordered her to sit back down and channel the voices of Marge Simpson's sisters, Patty and Selma.

Afterwards, Kavner didn't return to the stage."

Why does it not surprise me in the least that Lipton was the source of this?

Apparently, they didn't have Prof. Frink's transporter unit from 'The Fly' so that Kavner could stay on stage and pee.
