I've watched the Simpsons since Tracy Ulman, but I love those one-liners... feel free to add your own [apologies in advance for those that are kinda off in exact quotes]

Ralph: "Me fail english? That's un-possible!" "Hi Super Nintendo Chalmers"

Chief Wiggum: "No, you got the wrong number, this is 9-1-2" "I could picture the quarter pound, but with cheese?"

Ever notice how people feel the need to tell you they've watched the simpsons since Ulman? Like it gives them more credibility, or like they knew all along it would be the huge phenomenon that it is? I'm pretty sure a good size majority of the people in this group that are old enough have watched the simpsons since Ulman. I did...except oddly enough I then missed the first two seasons of The Simpsons because my mom sold our satellite and there was no local Fox affiliate and it took awhile before the cable company decided there was a reason to have Fox and get permission to broadcast the network feed. And by that time 21 Jump Street was off the air and I was terribly disappointed.

Well, we didn't have Fox in my part of Canada at that point, but even if we did, "Ullman" doesn't sound like something I'd have watched in a jillion years. I found out about OFF the day it premiered as a series, from a story on "Entertainment Tonight", and checked my local listings to determine that a Canadian network had, in fact, picked it up. And, I fell in love with it from the start. And, I own "Simpsons Sing The Blues".

Oddly enough, my dad got me to watch my first one... the first rerun of "There's No Disgrace Like Home" in March of '90. I'd just gotten back from Guatemala, and he thought the show was really funny... so he recommended it.

In Season 3, after Homer's line in "8F10" "Because I knocked you up?", my dad stopped watching. He felt that was a pretty tasteless line. But, thanks to him, now this obsession has taken over AND IT WON'T LET ME LIVE, DAMMIT! ;)

OK stupid question time

I've heard people both off and on these boards refer to the above line as being hilarious.

But I just don't see it .. he';s mispronouncing "Jesus" .. thats cute, but i'm begening to think theres something i'm missing .. particularly since a "Jebus" line also made it into "Family guy"

is this a refrence or something i'm missing???
