I work in tech support, and the following email came in, can't you just *hear* this in the CBG's voice? (Edited only to hise identity of any parties involved)
*** Begin CBG email *** THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!
I am trying to BUY the new [program] and canNOT because you won't accept
my LOGIN name and password!??? Are you people NUTS??
Then when I register AGAIN, you tell me MY EMAIL ADDRESS IS ALREADY IN USE!!?? HELLOOOO!!
IT'S ME STUPID!!
I BOUGHT [the previous version] FROM YOU BEFORE!
That's why you have my email address! All you have to do is double check
that it's me like all the other sites do when the same email tips them
that they've made a mistake in their record keeping of customers, and we
could proceed to a SALE! HELLOOOOO??? Isn't that what you're in
business for??
Nevermind, [the old version] is working fine for me. NO NEED TO DEAL WITH
THIS NONSENSE ANYMORE!
But tell me...if you all are smart enough to create [the program], how is that
you aren't smart enough to make a simple sale without getting in your own
way?
You should just GIVE me [the new version] in appreciation for me pointing out this
SERIOUS flaw in your online sales process before it costs you any more
sales DURING YOUR GRAND LAUNCH of your new headline product!
*** End CBG email***
The problem? He couldn't log in because he forgot his password. He had a good point about purring a password recovery link on the site, but in his email he could have just asked for a new password.
