Just another link in the chain

Well, many have usually had such epiphanies of how bad the show's been, now it's my turn. First off, it's bad enough that even Survivor has become eons more entertaining than the Simpsons. Me and my mom watched a half hour of it, and took a break for the 300th episode. Usually my mom laughs at the show, but by the time the 300th episode came, I was just ashamed to be watching it. The episode didn't reek, it was just... bad, pointless continuing each minute. Then the "301st" episode came, my little sister who's in middle school is laughing hard at the "Boobarella" thing. Is this what it's coming to? (And I'm bound to get posts by members of the Groeningland Security ["der, your a moron for not liking it you nerd!!!!!1"})

A lot of people who now bash the simpsons keep on repeating this.....however there is really no sense in it....first of all, you're entitled to your opinion, and the reason why so many people get ticked off is because though you may think the show is unintelligent, other people don't care about what you think....unfortunately it seems people who disliked the show like to stir up fights rather than to just stop watching the show....as for the quality of the show...i still think the show is as good as ever...there was a poll on cnn which had about 80 % of people claiming they still liked the simpsons as well, so worrying about the satisfaction of your sense of humor really doesn't serve the other members of the board in any way....as for your particular intelligence..i hope your assessment of survivor vs. the simpsons was sarcastic, as well as your claim that one show was EONS better than the other...do you know what an eon is? and as for the whining of getting bashed...this is a public board..so if you don't want to get bashed, don't bash the simpsons

Well, I'm free to opinions. But my comment was to the people who liked the show in it's current state that wouldn't respect mine.

"Intelligent" isn't the word. More like coherent. If they don't care what I think, they should leave this group. I'm not trying to shun their opinions, but it seems like many people's purpose here is to try and insult us. I steered clear of the NG for Season 13 and was very happy.

The same thing happened in Season 11's February sweeps. Man, I will admit that since Season 3, it's been a constant bash of the show with the rationale "It can't get any worse."

I don't like polls. I don't like 70% approve war in Iraq, or 80% disaprove of Bush, polls can be manipulated. I rarely trust the majority.

Sense of humor? I'm not some arthouse snob. Season 13 didn't have the best jokes. It had a nice, campy, Family Guy-esque feel. In fact, I love the show 'Family Guy', once which most wouldn't associate with Family Guy.

I misused Eon. But I stand by my claim. It's a very entertaining show, that got lost admist whiners who feel it hip to bash the show because it was a trend.

It's alt.tv.simpsons, not alt.tv.simpsons-rule. As a matter of fact, Al Jean himself said he'd rather have passionate fans than indifferent ones.
