Cancelled Episodes

In light of 9/11, two Simpsons episodes have been prevented from airing:

"D'ohsama Bin Laden"- Homer becomes a fundamentalist Shiite Muslim and masterminds a few attacks, including one on the Jenny Craig building and releasing ants into the SNPP.

"Airplanes Away"- Homer becomes a stewardess for InterAmerica Airways. During a flight to Boonhurst, a hijacker hijacks the plane. Homer, seeing that he overturned the food cart and spilled the food everywhere, goes ape and subdues him. ________________________________________________________________

This reminds me of an episode of JAG shown this week where a Navy SEAL is on trial for killing a guy who was threatening to crash an airplane.

I wonder if that show's producers intentionally added in the date the episode's events took place as an afterthought (the episode was set in August... you'd think that if the episode was supposed to take place in September there wouldn't be *any* controversy over the SEAL killing the potential hijacker).

I love this episode and it's a very lighthearted jab at New York...but to be fair: hearing Homer peeing from he top of the WTC might be considered a little offensive and in bad taste right now. I don't think it's oversensitive. I doubt it's pulled forever...just for now.
