Things I like about Blunder Years:

Homer: "Nothing is hurt... except feelings." Homer: "Something else happened in that query...Something... else." Homer: "The old quarry is only a stone's throw away." Lisa: Stop saying that, Dad. Homer: NEVER!

Homer: Now do you believe dead rats float? Homer: Now the movie's turned into a play. Still good though. Ending voiceover by Moe: Moe: This first thing is just going to look like a used bandaid. And it is. But the rest of the stuff

don't make no sense without it. Marge: Wow Moe. You've been doing a lot of sleuthing. Moe: Oh yeah I sleuthed my ass of on this one. This is a six from someone's address. Or is it a nine? You don't know. This is gravel. OK?

Gravel. This is, that's more gravel. Oh, this is a shell, that to me, this is me talking, it looks

like a helmet for a mouse. That sounds crazy right?

Homer: "It was hard on me, too. I had to wear a suit." Frink: "It appears I have re-dorkulated." Homer: "Look at me, I'm a famous historian, outta my way!!" Homer: "Look at me, I'm a Angie Dickenson, outta my way!!"

Moe: "Look at all them stars. Bunch a lazy lights, don't do nothing for nobody." Lenny, Carl, Moe, Homer: [Put hands together in fire] Ow that hurts! Man we're stupid. Moe leaving after Simpsons declare it's a job for the Simpsons. Homer: Someone has eaten the flesh. [Looks at Lisa, Marge, then Lisa].

Burly: "Fantasize, Marge. Fantasize about Burly" (Thrusting humping motions) Marge fixing Bart's weekly clothing in a shuffling way. Moe: "My bar is empty is what. Why aren't you guys there?" Wiggum: It's just an old shopping cart. Homer: Oh and it's empty. Put it back, I don't want to see it this way!

Why does Marge call it "this blue liquid" and not water when she says to Lisa "pour this blue liquid"? They kept advertising about Paul Newman guest starring, but he had like one line. What's the deal with that? Anyone have the rest of the Moe voiceover on Fox stations that didn't cut it off? Why was it called the "Blunder Years?"

For a brief second after Burns said "Wayland Smithers" and before he said "Sr." I thought a sort of Arman Tanzarian plot would develop where the real Wayland Smithers died and a phony would take his place. I wouldn't put it above Scully and crew to repeat such a lousy plot.

Haven't you ever seen a diaper or feminine hygiene product being advertised on television, or "T.V."? They *always* use blue liquid to demonstrate the product's absorbency, since blue is just about the only colour of liquid that the human body *doesn't* emit, and I'll bet that's questionable after ingesting certain horribly-colured liqueurs. (OT: I've thought for years that the toilet cleanser "2000 Flushes" should come not only in blue and green, but also in the "gag" colours brown, yellow, and most alarmingly, red - but I digress.)

Apparently because of the multitude of intentional (or not) continuity mistakes. Best ep of this horrible season. 13 seems to be our unlucky number.

It's because Homer looks back on his childhood, like the narrator (Daniel Sterns playing an adult Kevinin voice-over) for the TV series "The Wonder Years."

I think it's a reference to commercials for paper towels and other absorbent substances (panty liners and the like) in which seemingly large amounts of water are poured and absorbed, but the water is never actually referred to as water (and it looks overly blue, as though food coloring has been added to it).

Also, when there are commercials comparing things like paper towels, it's common to have side-by-side comparisons between the brand advertised and 'this other paper towl', in which the other paper towel's packaging makes it clear which brand is being referred to, but the name of the product has been removed from the label.

They wanted to get more people to tune in! :-)

Well it's dyed so you can see it being absorbed into the material...if it was just clear you wouldn't be able to see it and it would not be very dramatic and rather pointless.
