We know she's Chief Wiggum's wife and Ralph's mom, but I think she should be more of a character in Springfield. They should make Sarah Wiggum a official character and make her get some lines.
After all, they have more men in Springfield, so it wouldn't hurt to put in some women on there.
I think the show should develop some of its citizens like Sarah Wiggum or Bernice Hibbert.
After all, we could use some interesting characters in backgrounds to say something.
And when did we last hear from Sanjay (Apu's brother) and his daughter?
They were replaced by Manjula and there 8 babies. At least, they are characters!

More like Mr. Davis just getting burned out of any good ideas I guess. Doing a strip for the past 25 years must be a painstakenly tiresome bore. Can't say if there's any end in sight to this stirp, but it would be interesting to see how it might end someday.

Much of the Simpsons' years on television kinda reminds me of Peanuts in the same way that characters that were once in the comic strip (Shermy, Patty, Violet, etc) would vanish in the decades to come.
