hey. so i was reading the capsule submissions for sweet and sour marge and i thought of two things. first, when Frink is blowing the whistle on the sugar company ("a sugar delivery system"), i really thought of the movie "the insider" with al pacino and russel crowe (i.e., "a nicotine delivery system") and then how russel crowe gets death threats (ben stiller "i'll kill you" etc.). that was an ok movie about a tobacco company chemist testifying about the threats of blah blah blah. ("i don't know what's in 'em, i just know i can't stop smoking 'em!")
also, the music that's played when homer and apu go down inside the lard lad is from several other episodes. that music they used to play whenever anything insidious is going down. recall 9F10, "Marge vs. the Monorail" in the beginning when Mr. Burns and Smithers are trying to hide the toxic waste. that sort of semi-funky bass line and keyboard riff. or maybe it's better described as detective music. i don't know. i also can't think of any other episodes off hand that this music occurs in, but i know there's at least one more (?). "uh, little help?"
