How do you think a writer's strike would affect The Simpsons? Or would it make a difference?

I meant, if and when a writer's strike (not _this_ one) happened, would it affect the show? I grew up in Los Angeles and I remember writer's strikes coming and going, seemingly in cycles. Whenever the writers propose a strike, others in the industry get pissed and write vitriolic letters to the LA Times and trade papers saying the writers are babies putting working people out of jobs. Eventually the writers will announce another strike. It's inevitable.
