FINALLY... a truly funny episode!

Well, perhaps tonight's ep might be considered funny to a person with a signature such as yours, but IMHO tonight's ep wasn't exactly groundbreaking.

It's interesting. "Das Bus", now that was a funny episode that on this newsgroup, everybody hated back when it first aired: Feb. 98. But I really liked it. After the episode first aired, I came here and read a lot of negative comments about it.

But, "Blame it on Lisa", I didn't care for it much. I didn't like it. Again this time, I come on this newsgroup after the episode first airs and see a bunch of positive comments about it.

I am the opposite of normal people. What people hate, I like. What people like, I don't like.

But it's always good to see the episodes liked by the fans. It means the show will probably go on longer and it's better to see alt.tv.simpsons full of people who enjoy the episodes instead of Simpsons haters like four years ago.

"Das Bus" is one of my favourite episodes of The Simpsons. I don't know who Chuck Jones is. That's who I am. Not normal I guess.

That's my guess as well. :) In any event, you've heard of Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, and so on. Chuck Jones was the last of the original animators for Warner Brothers... he died a few weeks ago.

The Flying Nun series was based in Brazil after all... remember Mad Magazine's take off of that show called Sally Field "The Flying Nut" and named her "Sister Brazil."

What I thought made that joke was when she answered "yes" in response to Homer's junk in the trunk question...

i liked it pretty much upon first watching, but then again i'm quite inebriated what with honoring jebus' birthday and all. it'll grow on me as i watch it for a 2nd, 3rd and 4th time all by tomorrow morning (as is my sunday-monday morning ritual) which i can do cause i quit my job last week and don't have to go tomorrow. woo-hoo!!!!!

No. The individual lines of dialogue were pretty funny by themselves, but the overall plot was terrible. A total ripoff of earlier episodes! Not to be confused with "A TOTAL RIPOFF OF THE SMURFS"!

One of my favorite lines was Homer saying that all those "Boys From Brazil" were Hitler clones. And he saw that in a movie, but he couldn't remember the name of the movie! I think it was called "The Bus That Wouldn't Slow Down".

Now, OTOH, if the episode on Sunday was supposed to be making fun of the Simpsons in general, and their tendency to become stale, then it was a great episode! It succeeds on "so many levels"! They should re-make Sunday's episode as a full length feature film, starring George C. Scott!
