There were quite a few laugh-out-loud moments. Does this compare with previous Jon Vitti episodes? I don't know. I think if you had taken this EXACT script and made it 8 years ago, it would have looked different. Direction and animation continue to evolve.

I'd call this ep the high point of the season. I understand if some of you disagree with me. I don't think everyone has ever agreed on a single episode. But "Was your T.V. on?", as someone glibly and wittily asked earlier, is crap.

Tell us why you didn't like it, you "not-likers". IMO many people won't ever give a true opinion on something unless they know the majority feels the same way. Go out on a limb, and explain why you didn't like the episode. Stretch your necks out, a bit.

The episode for me came to a screeching halt when they got to Branson (actually, when they got to Bronson). The long musical number with the bad impressions of the washed-up ex-celebs was painfully unfunny and reeked of those bad Saturday Night Live sketches that they just do so each actor can do their pet impression. I've never turned off a Simpsons episode in 13 years, but I seriously thought about it then.

I agree with that, maybe it would have been funny if I recognised any of them, but I got nothing from that. You have to recognise that your audience may not get some references. All would be fine if the reference lasted a few seconds, but that was a long scene. And what about the crashing of the car into Seaworld and having the whale maon a bit. It was so cliched. They could have done much better. I wonder why the episodes are getting so weird lately?

This has to be Al Jean's gag, because Charles Bronson gags only seem to turn up in the episodes he produces (remember the DEATH WISH sequel in "A Star is Burns?" or Bronson's guest spot on the ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW in the Mary Poppins spoof). The man must be obsessed with Charles Bronson or something. Ray Jay Johnson seems to be another favorite Jean reference.
