They have a policeman, a doctor, even a gay guy. But what about a fireman? They should make one. I mean it just seems obvious they'd have a Fire Dept. and lots of kids wanted to be firemen when they were little. The police are incompetant so they'd probably have to come up with a different spin. AFter 9/11 though, now might not be the best time.

Volunteer fire department. Apu drives the firetruck, Moe and some others are also volunteer firemen. Anybody remember who else was on the truck?

It was in the episode "Homer vs. Heritity" or something like that when he doesn't go to church.

In "The Two Mrs. Nahaspeemapetilons" they showed firemen at the auction. In several other episodes ("Brother's Little Help" being one,) they showed the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department.
