Notes for MABF09 (Chief of Hearts)

Interesting, especially with the focus on a secondary character again (see last week's episode with Mr. Burns), and reminiscent quite a bit of "This Little Wiggy". It actually played a bit more like a drama at times, especially with the shooting and hospital scenes, though those parts were kind of nice - such as the aforementioned hospital stuff, the explanation of why as a cop Wiggum wouldn't have friends... the CD changer thing was strange, though. Bart's plot was very short (and Lisa had nothing to do), but kind of funny if only because I saw one of those ball robot toy things and didn't know what it was. Two sort of annoyingly over-presented jokes: "that's some big underwear" voiceover and seeing the car full of stolen printer paper.

OPENING notes L to R: Kang and Kodos laughing with ship whirring sound Ralph, etc: all same Solo: sounds like the one from BABF09, which would be its first repeat; but there may be an embellishment at the start Couch: same as LABF05, but this time CBG says "terrible!" at the end

DYN: ...the impression that Dylan is a girl is accompanied by the "Sleeping Beauty" ballet?

Meta-reference corner "MABF09" features in both mug shots (Homer and Moe) flashed as Amber Alerts. Both Edward G. Robinson and pigs remind Homer of Wiggum.

Goof The clocks in Skinner's office are at 10:05 for both Bart's "drug deal" and Skinner talking to Marge

Other stuff The title is "Chief of Hearts" - I assume it's a reference to something, but I'm not sure what. Help?

and Wiggum asks Lou not to use the numbers (such as a 211 for armed robbery) - where have I heard that before?

Is it a take on "Thief of Hearts"? There was a film of that title about 20 years ago, a secondary character was played by David Caruso. I'm not sure what relevance that has to your question, but both seem to be a play on "Jack of Hearts".

There was a recent story about how police have been forbidden or asked to stop using the 10 codes.
