Hi there, A recent article in the New York Times mentioned that The Simpsons popularized the term "surrender monkey" as a term referring to the French. I've look at SNPP's archive for that term, but was unable to see it. Can somebody tell me in which episode this phrase was uttered?

It was the episode when the PTA disbanded. I don't remember the name off the top of my head.
After the PTA disbands and the teachers go on strike, the townsfolk have to take over teaching at Springfield Elementary. Groundskeeper Willy winds up teaching French, and opens the class by saying "Bonjouuuuur, ya cheese-eatin' surrender monkeys!"

I understand that a write for the National Review picked up the phrase and put it in an article for the NR. The article was cited by the European Press to show why the US and France are drifting apart.
