I�ve just seen "Little Girl in the Big Ten" and I really like it.
That�s what I call good writing. Less Homer stuff and mindless slapstick, working charakterization, working plot structure, somehow working reality and good jokes and satirical elements in a nice Lisa episode. Yep, I like that. Well done, Jon Vitti.
However, the story itself is not really new (S13 meets "They Saved Lisa�s Brain" meets "Summer of 4 Ft 2") but that�s no big problem. It�s still better to have a classic idea in new form than to have new ideas in the usual bad style of modern seasons.
What bothers me a little is the ending. Lisa is accepted neither in college nor in school, so she has to go down to the lowest level to win the kids back. I don�t like the messsage, but maybe it�s just me. And was it really necessary to show Ralph wetting his pants? Maybe it�s again just me, but the kind of humor seems a little crude and S13-typical (in an untypical episode.)
Beside that, I really liked DABF15 and I hope for more episodes in similar quality. IMO second best episode in S13, only "Half-Decent Proposal" was better.
