In recent years, voices on "The Simpsons" including Phil Hartman, Linda McCartney, Stephen Jay Gould, and most recently Barry White, have died. At the same time, voices on other animated series such as "Futurama", "Ren & Stimpy" and "The Rugrats" are all still alive. Could there be a curse on "The Simpsons"? Please post your thoughts.

Well, you left out George Harrison, but I agree with a previous post that it's still a small percentage. (Besides, the animated series "As Told by Ginger" had two of its regular cast members die (Lewis "Mr. Cilia" Arquette" and Kathleen "Mrs. Gordon" Freeman), but you don't see Laraine Newman (who voices Ginger's mother) looking over her shoulder...although when you consider she's been in another "cursed" group, the original SNL cast (of the original nine, four - George Coe, Michael O'Donoghue, John Belushi, and Gilda Radner - have died, maybe she should.)
And Audrey Meadows, Steve Allen, Tito Puente, just to name a few off the top of my head. I'm sure there's others I've forgotten.

yes, or perhaps the sanford and son curse that killed red fox. on second thought...i believe the curse is called death. i'm told that usually it happens to people who get old, although occasionally it happens to people who are shot by their wife...

The Simpsons creators have the ability to see who is next to die. Also known as "The Dead Zone" ability.
Just before they die, they are asked to do some voice overs and paid tiny bits on the installment plan with a full baloon payment being paid after 2 years.
Knowning that the actors will soon die saves the show millions by only paying them, in most cases, $173.87 for their services.
The creators also use real humans for the voices and these humans have a life cycle and sometimes pass away.
Rumor has it that all the stars from silent movies from the 1900s have passed away also. They share the same curse as all TV shows do.

If that's the case, then why are most silent movies not in the public domain, thanks to the "digital millenium copyright act"? Thank goodness Canada still has a reasonable copyright length of 75 years.

Specifically Europe, where they had life+70 year copyrights while the US only had life+50 year copyrights. You may remember lots of things with images from Edvard Munch's "The Scream" on them back in the mid-90s. This was because he had been dead for 50 years by that time; such merchandise was unavailable in Europe.
