3/20 - DOUBLE FEATURE --------------------- 8:00 - Mobile Homer (GABF07) Marge throws Homer out of the house yet again - and this time, into the RV he bought when his buddies convinced him that Marge was the one holding the purse strings in the Simpson house 9:00 - Sleeping with the Enemy (FABF19) When Marge feels that Bart and Lisa don't appreciate her love, she finds someone who does - Nelson - and invites him in - to sleep with Bart
3/27 - DOUBLE FEATURE --------------------- 8:00 - She Used to Be My Girl (FABF22) Kim Cattrall ("Sex & the City") voices one of Marge's old high school friends, who is now a news correspondant, leading Marge to wonder if she made the right decision in marrying Homer rather than going to college...and Lisa to wonder if she made the right decision by hiding in Marge's friend's car to attend a UN women's conference when they end up instead at an erupting volcano 9:00 - Pranksta Rap (GABF03) 50 Cent voices himself when Bart sneaks out of the house to attend a rap concert, and then fakes his own kidnapping (which results in Kirk van Houten being arrested for it) to cover his tracks
STUFF for "Goo Goo Gai Pan" (GABF06)
------------------------------------
Written by Lawrence Talbot
Directed by Lance Kramer
Special Guest Voice: Lucy Liu, Robert Wagner
Also Starring: Pamela Hayden, Tress MacNeille, Karl Wiedergott
Uncredited Appeareance: David Silverman as himself
Blackboard: none
Couch: in the darkness, a number of pairs of eyes appear; the lights
go on, revealing a surprise party for the Simpsons, causing
Homer to collapse
Overseas Animation: Akom
TV Rating: TV-PG-DLVREVIEW: B-plus - they could have used a little more time in China
(although they probably did cover all the bases - great wall
joke, Lisa making a comment about Tibet, Homer having his
heart ripped out), but I was surprised that, instead of ending
with Selma having her baby taken away and Homer making some
stupid comment about it just before the closing credits, they
end up with Selma taking the baby back to America (although
on any other show, it would have been a cheesy ending).REFERENCES Moo Goo Gai Pan (title) General Tso (giant take-out carton as a memorial) Skol smokeless tobacco (Selma says she's switching from smoking) "MacGyver" (Selma considers listing him as her husband) Tianaman Square rally/massacre ("in 1989, nothing happened" sign) 7F23 (reference to someone pulling someone else's heart out and then showing it to them) 9F11 (Selma wants a baby) 2F31 (MacGyver is considered a real person by someone) CABF04 (Homer and a panda)
DYN ...Mr. Burns's car has the steering wheel on the right? ...Selma has forgotten that she doesn't want children, after trying to keep an eye on Bart and Lisa in 9F11? ...Selma didn't bother listing any of her four ex-husbands as her current husband? ...it didn't occur to anybody that Homer's hospital room could be bugged (when Selma left him alone with Marge)? ...even in China, the fortune cookies have numbers on them? ...when Selma signs the form in China, she does it left-handed? ...the closing credits (starting with the cast) are in white instead of yellow (the same white used for some of the backgrounds in David Silverman's drawings, making them hard to read), except for the last two? ...there is a credit for the "song" sung during the performance of "Death of a Salesman", but not for the dragon's songs?
GOOFS / FREEZE FRAME / WHATNOT When Mr. Burns's car turns onto the road where Bart and Milhouse are playing hockey, it appears that the entire street has ice. When the shot changes to just the car, there is no ice on the road. The ice returns when the car goes past Milhouse.
The map of China in the Chinese Consulate had Taiwan in a different color from the rest of China. The Chinese consider Taiwan part of their country, and refer to it as Taipei.
Selma says she is switching to Skol, but then takes out some chewing tobacco. Skol isn't chewed, but kept between the gums and cheek inside the mouth.
When Homer's heart was pulled out and then put back in, there was no hole in his shirt.
