Tonight's SP is entitled "The Simpsons Already Did It". According to southparkstudios.com they're paying homage to the Simpsons.

Definitely a funny episode. For those who missed it (and either can't wait until this weekend's repeats to find out what happens or wants to find out what happens before watching it). Here's an idea of that plot-line.

The "Simpsons" plotline is a sub-plot involving Butters, a kid who recently became an insane supervillain. He's trying to come up with plans to bring terror to South Park. However, it turns out that each plan that he has was already done on an episode of the Simpsons. This problem gets so frustating for Butters that he ends up beginning to see the entire town being drawn a la the Simpsons. Oh yeah, there's also a major plot in which the main boys mix sea monkeys with a certain white goo.

actually if you think really hard, you could tie other things that were happening in SP to other Simpsons eps. (Besides the whole Butters subplot) When Cartman was dreaming about living under the sea, it reminded me of the ep where Homer sexually harasses the babysitter and dreams of moving under the sea. And when the boys make the seapeople who create a little city under water, it reminded me of the ep, where lisa does the same thing ( minus the part involving semen)

In article ,

*is accused of sexually harassing* the babysitter. This is how rumours start! :)

They even got the episode number right. And the episode title. And the sub-title of the second story.

The part where the sea-people killed themselves off in a religious war reminded me of "The Simpsons'" first cousin, "Futurama." Bender was flying though space, and picked up two colonies of tiny beings. The fought over the existence of Bender (whom they regarded as God) himself, and each blew the other up. So I guess everything *has* been done, after all!

By the way, did the ending of the show strike anyone as really abrupt? Cartman lamented, "Why can't societies live in peace," (or something along those lines), then cut right to the credits. I don't normally watch "South Park;" is that how they usually wrap up, or were they just running long that week?

The endings are usually very similar to that, avery abrupt cut to the credits after a line or some action. Though on this episode it felt like they almost cut off the end of Cartmen's line, so the episode may have been a little long.

I doubt that the episode ran long or anything like that. I figure the reason they just ended after Cartmans statement was because there is no easy answer and about all Stan and Kyle could do would be say "Yeh".
