What if something happened to Ned, and the Simpson's took care of Rod and Tod.. we've seen the reversal where the Flanders took in Bart, Lisa and Maggie, and that was rather interesting

Homer was taking care of Rodd and Todd before he opened his daycare center. I'm not sure how much more there would be to do.
