seeking domain

I am looking for someplace i can put up a website. somthing that is affordable and something that charges by the year.

these free hompage services like angelfire and geocities just are not enough for me. i need more space. i have a lot of clipart and sound files and these places don't give me enough space. i am looking for something that is atleast more then 25 megs of space.

Since my site is not a buisness and it's only a clipart site. i was wondering if there was anyplace where i could go and pay a decent price and dose not mind charging me a yearly fee instead of a monthly fee?

since i am not rich nor do i plan on making any money on this site. it's a site just for fun. basicly for friends and family and other people who may want to visit.

All you need then is a domain name which you can get for about $US8pa for a .com.

I've used them and am quite happy with them.

I use www.0catch.com which will give you 250 megs of storage and 5 gigs a month bandwidth for $70 (US) a year.

I've been reasonably pleased with www.surpasshosting.com. The cheapest plan is $40/year, and includes 1 GB space, 15 GB/month transfer, as many POP mailboxes and forwarders as you want, as many MySQL databases as you want, you can write your own CGI in Perl, they support Flash and PHP and SSI and Frontpage extensions, and there is a nifty control panel that can set up a lot of nice stuff easily for you (e.g., discussion forums, mailing lists). Next plan up is $48/year, and bumps those limits to 2 GB and 30 GB/month, then it is $65 for 3 GB and 50 GB/month, $110 for 7 and 75, $165 for 10 and 100, $230 for 15 and 150, and $275 for 20 and 200.

The only thing they are really missing is ssh access. (Actually, they used to offer that, but they dropped it. They did not remove it for those of us who had it, but new customers cannot get it).

Me too. 100MB / 5 GB xfer, and I'm paying $6/month. It uses CPanel for administration, which is probably the same as thys guys...

Oops... the "me too" was supposed to reply to "I'm getting ripped off".

Ironically it still applies, as I use affordablehost as well. The support is great, the uptime is pretty good. But comapred to these guys plans, I think we're paying too much (surpasshosting just doubled all their storage and xfer numbers for the same price since the last guy posted about it).
