Excellent point.
Another recent example would be Senator Arlen Specter investigating the New England Patriots for their spying activities. This reminds me of the "Idiot Ruins Game" headling in that OFF episode years ago.

Sad as these stories are... they are so damned FUNNY :)
So... I wonder if he's been enjoying his new satellite TV or not?

I like the bit where he shot his wife...
Who's going to fetch his beer now?
Paul
I suppose a lot less nagging for him now... unless she avails herself of the usual paranormal protocols.
He could try shooting it?

"Tony Wilson
March 18, 2008 11:00pm
AN elderly Gold Coast man has shot himself dead with a remote-controlled device he built with plans downloaded from the internet.
The Burleigh Heads man, who lived alone, left notes of his plans and thoughts as he struggled to come to terms with demands by interstate relatives that he move out of his home and into care.
He set the device up in his driveway about 7am yesterday, placed himself in front of it and set it in motion. Workmen heard gunshots and ran to investigate."

I love the way at the bottom of the short article it says:
" Anyone with personal problems can call Lifeline on 131 114 or Mensline Australia on 1300 789 978 or log on to www.beyondblue.org.au "
I'd say by the time you were building killer robots, the only site you'd be logging onto would be Mythbusters, for a little guidence on construction...
BTW, I never saw anything about this on the evening news that day, and you'd think it would be prominent.

Does anyone else think "Mensline" sounds more like a gay chat/phone sex thing?

Well I guess that would count as a 'personal problem'... Not that there's anything *wrong* with that...

I hate that ****ing show. Their myth 'busting' leaves an awful lot to be desired to say the least.
Reporting suicides is a big no-no in the mainstream media, generally speaking.
Well OK, it is rather contrived, but compared to the rest of the dross that passes for entertainment these days, it stands out...
True, but this story is just so weird you'd think they couldn't possibly ignore it.
Paul
I suppose that is a back-handed endorsement, of sorts... :)
I don't actually watch *any* TV (for the pedants out there, that means everything I do watch is on some form of media and not received via an antenna).
That is true, and I only have respect for the guy, he certainly made sure he got his way.

If it originated on TV, it's watching TV.
Oy, this could put Jack Kevorkian out of business!
Indeed. Is he even still alive??
<checks...>
Yep, he gave a lecture in January, so presumably he's still alive.

AND, he's even running for Congress! (no joke)

What will be his first bill... the 'Youth in Asia' bill?
Perhaps he can euthanase the lot of 'em...
An accident --- yeah, right. ;)

Obama is just a cheap rip-off of Homer, and they've been loading his campaign with Simpsons references for decades...
And they started doing it before "The Simpsons" even existed.
