Inspiration for the Flaming Moe?

Being from Princeton, that haven of underage drinking, someone recently told me about something called the "Flaming Dr. Pepper." Basically, you take a little bit of Everclear, light it on fire, drop the shotglass into a can of beer, and drink quickly--it's supposed to taste very much like Dr. Pepper.

A: Has anyone else heard of this, or are my friends phenomenal drunks, and

B: Could this have been the inspiration for the Flaming Moe?

Yes, it's fairly popular among binge drinking fraternity people at the local bars (but maybe it's just a college town thing), but your friends are probably also phenomenal drunks. As for the Flaming Moe, I when I first saw it I thought of the flaming Dr. Pepper but who knows if that's where they got it.

But then why not have a Dr. Pepper, which tastes exactly like Dr. Pepper?

I know, I know. I'm a stupor-pooper.

I've had it. It burned the hell out of my throat. no, not from the fire, the beer puts it out, but the alcohol. We used some 151 though, not everclear. You take a shot glass of it, light it, then drop it in a GLASS of beer, not a can, as a shot glass won't fit in the opening of a can :). The burning overwhelmed any taste of Dr. Pepper, but the second time I had it (when I could handle the 151), it tasted more like a flat Coke. Ahh, that reminds me of a great Ralph quote: "It tastes like burning!"

Ahh college days...

I've had my fair share of "burning" tastes...151, Everclear, Fire Water...but the nicest "burning" would be the cool, soothing, Ice 101. Tastes just like Listerine, only you're allowed to swallow!

Andy(atuc.com), recommends a fire and ice party, a shot of fire water, then a shot of ice 101... then repeat until passed out...

I prefer Famous Moe's, or, in a pinch, the Flaming Meaux.

It's called the Double Octane. It's illegal, and with good reason. It catches on serious fire. Tastes great though. But not before your eyebrows are blown off, though.

There are actually Dozens and dozens of drinks that flame..the Flaming Orgasm, the Flaming Monkey, the Flaming Dr. Pepper. I didn't make these up. They are usually made with Bacardi 151, and are not illegal at all. Order one now at your favorite dive (not faux dive).

Yeah, sure, but the Double Octane is my favorite. Two reasons:

1.)It tastes the best 2.)It's the name of my favorite Workstation

Yes, but we took a shot of root ber schnapps (I think), topped it with Bacardi 151, lit it and dropped it in. Now that's a Dr. Pepper shot. "Internet King" wrote in message news:[email]...

As for cough syrup being the secret ingredient, it's quite an underground fact you can get quite wasted with Robitussin anti-cough syrup, i wouldn't be surprised if the writer knew that

I wouldn't recommend it though. By the time you take enough to get wasted, you could die from the ingredients in there. There's a reason they say not to take more than the recommended dosage. Ditto with NyQuil, which you could also theoretically get drunk with.

Well, I've had a Dr. Pepper shooter, that was like that only without the fire, and I have no recollection of what was in the shot glass. You know, every time I learn something new it pushes some old stuff out of my brain.

When I had a Flaming Dr. Pepper, it was 2/3 shot Bacardi 151, 1/3 shot Amaretto. Light. Drop in a half cup beer. Chug. Repeat. Pass out. Tastes just like Dr. Pepper (really!)

Oh and Puck Frinceton.
