Tom Clancy, Thomas Pynchon and the Olsen twins have cameos as Marge writes a novel that casts Homer in a bad light, and Flanders in a good one. Julie Kavner, Harry Shearer, Dan Castellaneta.
Non-Simpsons Thoughts:
(1) Does it annoy anyone other than me that The-N/Noggin cancels running a show like "Pete and Pete" for a show like an "Access Hollywood" knockoff. There is nothing that pre-teens and young teenagers need to learn more than celebrity worship and who's bonking who. Also, the new Degrassi really sucks in comparison to the old one. Maybe this is showing my age and maybe the original seemed better because I was watching it when I was seven, but I don't think Skankin' Pickle will be writing any songs about any of the characters on this show. And why does The-N have to censor the Daria episodes?!? It is sad that they sensor such things as Daria's parents referral to their having sex. I just really loathe The-N because it has such potential for showing old great Nick shows ("Hey Dude", "Salute Your Shorts", "Out of Control"), but instead it is countless reruns of the same bad shows.
(2) This coming Saturday the 31st will be the last time that Sci-Fi will show an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000. While there have not been any new shows in four years, it is sad to see it unavailable anywhere on TV in a syndicated format. I guess the best episode still is "Pod People" but they also have had some classics in their 10+ year run.
(3) Has anyone seen those ads on TV for the Kid Bop songs where little kids sing current pop songs? I wonder if when they sing the "Hey Ya" by OutKast if they sing the line after "I don't wanna meet your momma"?
Non-Episode Simpsons Thought:
I was watching 2F15 "Lisa's Wedding" the other day and I notices that the date of her wedding was in 2010. I wonder if anyone thought back then that the show could possibly still be on the air on the date of that wedding. I honestly don't think that the show will last that long but I also used to think the show would only last ten seasons. Go figure.
Thoughts on Tonight's episode:
Class at the Y: Yale University Heh heh Boris Car Lot. Does anyone have any ideas on how many times Homer has been fired from the SNPP? Not a Sodomite� or a Gamorian (sp) Marge with the Dot Matrix Printer Was that a Herman's Head reference in Lisa's Head� the first funny Lisa scene in a while. Does anyone have the back story on how the Simpsons got Pynchon to come on the show? This is Tom Clancy's second appearance on the show. I did not like him then or now. Was that Jimmy the Scumbag in the back of the ambulance at the end of act 2? Marvin Monroe!?!? WTF?!? Nice animation with all those blocks talking. Thunder Down Under� Isn't that the Chippendales Australian Knock-Offs? Does Ned Still have THE GEO!!! Reference from the Homer Loves Flanders Ep.

Review:
So this was pretty much all I could ask for in a Simpsons Episode. It was funny. All of the speaking characters had their moments. Guest appearances were not too over the top. There were good sight gags in it. The first act was a little slow, but the last two more than made up for it. All in all, it was a great episode. Grade: A-
