Is there any recurring characters (2 or more episodes) on The Simpsons that hasn't came into contact with Homer, Marge, Grandpa, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie?
Everyone knows the Simpsons?
probably, but the show is based around the Simpsons, so it would make sense that most characters come in contact with them.

Has Al Gore appeared in two episodes? He's seen celebrating in the White House when Lisa buys his book (the episode with Grampa's sex tonic), and we hear his voice when Bart & co. buy an Al Gore doll in Knoxville (Tenneseein' is Tennebelievin'). But Al Gore doesn't actually come into contact with them.
According to <http://www.snpp.com/guides/religion.html>, Pope John Paul II appears in [5F05]; he's also in "The Mansion Family" [BABF08], where he comments on Fidel Castro's bad breath.

True, but didn't he come into contact with them in the THOH where the aliens posess Gore and Clinton?
Also, has the Bumblebee Guy actually come into contact with them?
Al Gore wasn't in that episode. It was Clinton and Bob Dole.

Bumblebee Man went on the bus trip to the Superbowl with Homer. Sideshow Mel gave Lisa advise about not using a bone to get rid of bubble gum in the hair. What about Arnie "Pie in the Sky"?

Make that three episodes. When Homer takes then-Pres. Clinton's congratulatory phone call in "Sunday, Cruddy Sunday (AABF08)," Gore is in the background, measuring the Oval Office windows.
hmmmm, Wiggum's wife doesn't know the Simpsons. I don't know if Sideshow Mel actually does either. and Goya

Sideshow Mel does. In 22 Short Films About Springfield, Sideshow Mel talks to Lisa about how to get gum out of her hair...he says "Don't try to get it out with a bone..." or something.

Sideshow Mel and Bart know each other from the episode when Bart worked for Krusty.

Oh, very smooth. Smooth? Yes, very. Yes? Yes. Yes. Smooth. Smooth. Yes. Yes.
You could eat off of it.

D'oh! Best answer so far, then, seems to be Sarah Wiggum (although she was present when Marge was denouncing the Maison Derriere).

In the Springy the Springfield Spring episode where Bart helps out at the old folks home, Bart gets in trouble with his stand up comedy routine. Chalmers talks to Bart then...

It was Selma.
What about that big brute, that sometimes accompanies superintendent Chalmers? I can't remember his name.
I think thats Leopold.
I think you mean Leopold.
That "brute" introduced Marge as Bart's substitute teacher. Any word on Brandine and Sarah Wiggum?
In the Lord Of The Flies episode (I think it's in this one), in the scene where Chief Wiggum says the line about Ralph picking his nose "...too much...or not enough."...is Sarah in that scene too? Cuz she would've been in contact with the Simpsons there.
