I just realized that the Simpsons have never done a full-fledged Mother's Day episode. Here's one I'd like to see:
"Marge's Day" Marge feels like no one appreciates her when they leave the house a mess and never do what she asks them to. On Mother's Day, she expects some appreciation, but no one even remembers. With that, she gives up, and tries her best to live a slob life like them; not picking anything up, never cleaning, etc. to show them how it feels, but they could all care less about a messy house. Marge later catches herself starting to vacuum and wonders if maybe she is too up tight and naggy after all. But, no sooner does she think this, then the family realizes what a dump things are without her and realize they rely on her as a housewife. She glady re-accepts her duties.

Marge hints and hints about the upcoming Mother's day.
Lisa calls it "just a debasement of women by turning them into an excuse for yet another crass, Hallmark payday."
Homer complains, "How come there's no Father's Day, then?"
Marge explains that there is, and that she bought him an expensive beer stein last Father's Day.
Homer acknowledges, guiltily. Flashback of Homer at Moe's. Homer asks Moe to fill the stein. Moe says that it'll cost twice as much, because of it's size. Homer says to himself, "Nice try, Marge! Think you'll cut down on my drinking by doubling the cost?! Double your pleasure with this!" Homer smashes the stein. He says, "Hey, Moe? Gimme two beers."
Bart, once again, gets a lousy report card. Nelson explains the secret to his carefree life, "I get the old lady something nice for Mother's Day; that's good for a whole year of bail bonds."
Bart decides that he needs the "ultimate" Mother's Day gift.
Homer at work. Lenny and Carl chide Homer about taking his better-half for granted. Homer reflects on his previous divorce from Marge; he gets worried. Lenny and Carl are planning to buy each other gifts for Mother's Day. Homer shudders. Homer seeks out Smithers for advice.
Smithers explains that true love can only exist from afar. Homer imagines himself in outer-space, looking down at Marge from the Hubble telescope. Just before he gets a look down her blouse, the image goes fuzzy. The telescope gyrates wildly, tossing Homer towards the Sun! Just before Homer falls into the Sun, he curses, "I'll get you for this, Ron Howard! I know your home planet!!!"
Bart is in the Android's Dungeon. He asks Comic Book Guy about the ultimate Mother's Day gift. Guy says, "Consider of comics, these mothers three: Zebra Girl marries Aquaman; Zebra Fish-Girl Marries the Crab Monster; and Crab-Zilla, daughter of Bea Arthur."
Homer begs Lisa for advice. Lisa finally submits, and advises flowers. Homer says, "Out of the mouths of babes ... it's not all drool and spittle."
Homer at the flower shop. Lenny and Carl duck out of sight as Homer enters. Homer looks at the prices, "D'oh! Damn, Lisa! Just like her mother, anything to cut down my drinking!"
Flower shop saleswoman walks up to Homer. Homer asks, "Are these any cheaper if I bring my own mug?" Woman says, "Like I haven't heard that one before! Actually, I haven't; but at these prices, I'm supposed to be snooty."
Mother's Day. Homer, Bart and Lisa have brought Marge flowers. They all look guilty.
Shot of Flanders walking out of his house. He says to himself, "Well, time to plant some flowers on Maude's grave."
He reaches down to his garden, which is well-stocked with beautiful flowers. He looks out into the street.
Nelson is running down the street screaming, "My flowers! My flowers! Who stole my flowers! I'm all out of appeals!!!"
Cut to Milhouse. Milhouse says to Nelson, "I'll be your huckle-berry!"
